Ian Brown prison dates

Ian Brown is to do a Johnny Cash style tour taking in a series of prison gigs across the UK.

The ex-Stone Roses frontman, who has stayed at his majesteys pleasure himself, wants to tour prisons as a warm up to the festival season this summer.

The singer served two months behind bars in 1999 for threatening an air stewardess and it clearly hit a chord.

He said: "I might have a chance of getting in Preston jail. I'm trying to get three or four prisons, do a little prison tour."

He added: "It's instead of doing little clubs as a warm-up for a big festival. That would be really cool."
