Kylie to star in 'Rent'

Kylie Minogue is to feature in the West End production of "Rent", after recording a series of answerphone messages for the production.


The Aussie pop rocket, who next month returns with her first new album since beating breast cancer, will now also be heard onstage in London.

The play, which stars Denise Van Outen and re-opens at the Duke Of York Theatre this evening, has been revamped by William Baker, Kylie's creative director.

A spokesman for the theatre has confirmed that Kylie recorded six messages for the show, which also stars former Sugababe Siobhan Dougherty.

Ewan Thompson explained: "It started off as very much an 'in' thing between Kylie and William Baker, and it was a great way to get her involved in a small way."

"X" is due for release on November 26.
